Front End Engineer
Evonetix is a start-up company which is set to revolutionize de novo gene synthesis as needed to facilitate the fast-growing and incredibly exciting field of synthetic biology. Our technology is based upon a novel silicon array, manufactured with semiconductor microfabrication techniques and capable of independent control of many thousands of miniaturized reaction sites, allowing massive parallelism of the DNA synthesis process and on-chip DNA assembly with integrated error removal.
Our community is a closely-knit multidisciplinary team of biologists, physicists, synthetic and surface chemists, and mechanical, electronic and software engineers.
We have recently closed our $30M Series B funding round and recently moved to a state-of-the-art facility in central Cambridge, allowing us to undertake significant recruitment to enable the development of our commercial DNA synthesiser.
Our novel approach to DNA synthesis and assembly is set to revolutionise what is possible with a desktop DNA synthesiser. One of the key components to this system will be the cloud application for designing and managing DNA sequences for synthesis on our instrument, as well as applications and systems that will support the commercial, sales and support teams, as well as internal development of our instrument.
We are looking for a talented UI engineer with an eye for design, to create user-driven applications that will allow our end users to access our DNA synthesis platform. As a UI engineer you will be part of the team responsible for the design and development of front-end applications to meet the needs of our users. In this role you will engage with the team and wider stakeholders to discuss application features, create mock-ups and build production ready features.
You will work within the software engineering team to plan and deliver a number of greenfield applications and systems to support the business objectives, with the opportunity to work on bioinformatics tools, ecommerce systems and business intelligence applications.
This is a unique opportunity to join early in the product lifecycle to help shape the direction of our cloud platform and development practises, and to work on the development of a unique third-generation gene synthesis platform.
